National Offer Day 1st March -Waiting list

The Winston Churchill School runs its own waiting list and applicants are not automatically added to it.

You can join our waiting list now, just fill in this form

The waiting list is ranked according to our admissions criteria, not on a first come first served basis.

We cannot add anyone to the waiting list who did not name The Winston Churchill School on their original application. If you now wish to go on our waiting list, please contact Surrey County Council on 0300 200 1004 to add our school as a preference, before filling in the form

If you have any further queries, please email admissions@wcsc.org.uk

At The Winston Churchill School we understand how big the transition from primary to secondary school can be. We do all we can to make sure primary school pupils and their parents have all the information they need to make the right decision and feel safe and enjoy their new school.

Please Note: All applications must be completed through the Surrey County Council website Including those applying for a Specialist Academic or Music place (see below).

Applications for Year 7 Entry in September 2024

800-445-IMG_5060
At the beginning of the Autumn Term the "Going to secondary school" leaflets (which explain how to apply online) will be delivered to primary schools. The schools will distribute the leaflets to Year 6 pupils

Applying online is the most popular way to apply. The system is easy to use and we encourage all applicants to apply online.

If you would like a paper application form instead, contact Surrey County Council on 0300 200 1004. Make sure to read the information below to help you with the completion of  your application before you fill in the form.

The Admissions criteria can be found in the 'Take me straight to...' section at the top of this page. If you are applying for a place under Priority 3, 4, 5 or are making an out of chronological request you are required to supply supporting evidence with your application, please see the criteria for more information.

It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that the correct supporting evidence is attached to the application.

The closing date for Secondary applications is 31st October each year. However, we strongly recommend that you submit your secondary application by the Friday before the half term holiday.

Parents are informed in March either by letter or email which school they have been allocated. Please ensure you use a current email address as all communication from Surrey and the School will be sent to the email used on the application.
14 days are given from this date to either accept or decline a place. More information can be found on the Surrey County Council website.

The Winston Churchill School maintains its own waiting list. If, after naming The Winston Churchill as one of your preferences, you are unsuccessful in gaining a place you should email admissions@wcsc.org.uk immediately with your child's name, address and date of birth. The School is unable to add a name to the waiting list if The Winston Churchill School was not named as a preference, in this case you will need to contact Surrey County Council to add the preference before emailing the request to the School.

Waiting lists are ranked according to the school's admissions criteria, not the date the application was received or when the child's name was added to the list.

Your child's position on a waiting list can go down as well as up. This is because other children who have greater priority against the school's admission criteria may be added to the list (for example, a child who moves into the area).

The waiting list will be cleared at the end of the first term. To maintain your place on the waiting list, you will need to email admissions before the start of each new term.

If you do not get a place at your preferred school, please visit the Surrey County Council website for advice on next steps and appeals

The Surrey Appeals Service administers the appeal process for The Winston Churchill School.

Alternatively, please call the Surrey Schools Appeals Service on  020 8541 8092 or email surrey.schoolappeals@surreycc.gov.uk to request appeal papers.
