English Enterprise Day – Year 10 Students

The aim of the day was to give all students some experience of the world of work. The day was divided into three sessions: interviews, customer relations and mini-enterprise. Importantly, the sessions were run in the main by outside visitors. Students were interviewed by business men brought in for the day and a group of actors ran customer relations using role-play and interactive telephones. The mini-enterprise task was judged by members of the school administrative team.

The students were enthusiastic, motivated and produced some excellent results. The visitors all commented on the high standard of work produced and mentioned frequently the quality of our students.

Some thoughts from the students:

I learnt how to answer the phone correctly and politely.
I learnt how you must act when you are at work and how to get jobs.
This day couldn’t be improved!
I learnt how to act and also that you can be asked random questions in an interview!
I learnt how to advertise a business.
